Psychologist (BSc (Hons), GMBPsS)

Systemic Psychotherapist

Solution Focused Coach

Well-being requires balance in all biological, psychological, physiological and social aspects. My personal interpretation of systemic psychotherapy therefore extends to incorporate the symbiosis of the body and the mind. My approach to psychotherapy takes a holistic view that is mindful not only of context, thought processes and behaviours, but also the embodiment of experiences.

I have a passion for personal development and helping people to see the best within themselves. I know what it means to experience the worst life has to offer, and the effects that adversity can have on who we are and how we feel about ourselves. I also know, that we are not our stories and we each deserve to feel confident and accepted in our lives. As a therapist, my purpose is to help others find their strength and their power so that they may experience fulfilment and happiness.

The role of a therapist is not to act as the expert over your life, but it is to provide a reflection of your own wisdom that has perhaps become clouded by adverse conditions. Through the recognition and acceptance of the history, relationships, environments and experiences which have shaped us; we can identify the thoughts and behaviours which serve us best, whilst releasing those which are no longer functional.

In my personal life and with my clients, I do my best to hold systemic principles at the forefront of everything I do. It is my belief that all individuals deserve kindness and empathy. That we each deserve a life of connection and purpose. That no person should hide any part of themselves as light can not exist without darkness, and that perfection is not something we should strive for.

The focus of my interest and education has been in family dynamics, trauma and post-traumatic stress, psychosomatic and stress related illnesses, and relationship conflicts. I have studied extensively the relationship between the body, the mind and our environment so that I may apply a holistic approach to therapy that understands there is rarely a linear relationship between cause and effect. I have used this knowledge and experience to support others through many difficult life transitions, to improve relationships with the self and others and to also build resilience even in the most difficult of circumstances.

I am a Systemic Family, Couples and Individuals psychotherapist with a BSc (Hons.) in Psychology. I have trained in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Relationship Transactional Analysis, Non-Violent Resistance, Yoga Therapy for Trauma and Mindfulness.
